Local Walking Groups
Joining one of our
"Over the Hill" groups is the perfect way to enjoy walking for fitness
and fun, meet like-minded people and discover the secrets of this lovely
area in the safety of a group with qualified leaders.
There is a different area each week, varying from Foix, Pamiers and Mirepoix to Lavalanet, Fanjeaux and Chalabre with occasional sorties further afield.
The walks cost 10 € per person and you have the choice of two groups depending on your level of fitness and your purpose for walking. For both groups there is regular advice on posture, how to save your knees, using walking poles, nutrition, weight loss, equipment, blood pressure and other health issues. Short trips (2 or 3 days) are also organised regularly to enjoy walking in other areas such as the Cathare Trail and the Mediterranean Coast.

WALK AND TALK
These are walks of between 5 and 10 km (2-3 hours) at a gentle pace - there is no pressure to keep up, just get out there and enjoy it! Bring a snack, a drink, comfortable shoes and a jacket to help you on your way as you as you admire the stunning countryside, enjoy the companionship of your fellow walkers and perhaps start yourself on the path to improved fitness.
SPORTY WALKING
Longer walks of between 10 and 20 km (3-4 hours) at a good pace with some longer, steeper hills! The walks are programmed to enhance stamina and endurance over a period of time and are for people who want to push themselves a bit to improve their fitness whilst still enjoying the relaxed and sociable atmosphere. Feel secure within a group environment and with the support of a guide and other walkers. Ideal for those who are looking to improve their conditioning or even working towards a challenging target.
